Gratitude Amps up Law of Attraction

Is Gratitude a Life Hack?

I’m going to “theme it up” this month and spend a couple of weeks talking about the Law of Attraction. Now, before you roll your eyes 👀 and think “been there, done that, old news” stay with me, please.

Yes, there are a ton of people out there talking about, and teaching about, the Law of Attraction. And now I am excitedly adding to all of that noise – and I’m grinning about it from ear to ear (don’t judge!)

Since I know you’re spiritually aware, I know that you kno…

Beyond the Fog: Mastering Life's Uncertainties

I believe it was Emerson who observed that the only straight line in Nature is the spider swinging down from a twig.

The rest of Nature is a tapestry of twists and turns, ins and outs, and ups and downs.

And although we might say that we enjoy the tapestry of life, I think for most of us, we like it better when we can see how all the parts fit together. We want to know where we need to make turns and what decisions to make. “Living in the mystery” is a nice romantic notion, but not too comf…

What Should You Expect?

I remember it as clearly as if it happened yesterday.

A couple of years ago I attended a chamber mixer and I had an expectation that I would win one of the raffle prizes - - and I did! A friend of mine asked if I really had an expectation of winning or if I was just hopeful.

That question caused me to really think about what I felt at that particular chamber mixer compared to all of the others I attended. And I could feel a difference. I actually did expect to win something. In fact, I was …

Blastoff Can be Harder than Expected

Change your thinking, change your life. On your mark….get set…go!

What? You haven’t changed yet? How can that be? Changing those pesky habitual thoughts is a bit trickier than we anticipate and many of us give up in frustration. And guess what? When we do, our internal mind chatter (our constant companion, “monkey mind”) is happy.

So, even though our internal mind chatter might be happy, we most definitely are NOT!  The very thoughts we want to change are in our heads before we even realize…

2021.06.17 Self-Doubt

Self-Doubt and Self-Sabotage are BFFs

Do you have days when life feels like work?

Days when you wonder if you’ll ever achieve your goals?  Days when you think you shouldn’t want so much? Days when you nearly talk yourself out of wanting more? If so, you’re not alone.

Do you sometimes wonder if your self-doubt is sabotaging your dreams? Do you have a tendency to avoid looking at (or thinking about) ideas or beliefs which are uncomfortable? Do you secretly hope your insecurities will magically disappear if you ignore them long en…

Three Little Words

3 Little Words can be Powerful...

I love you. I forgive you. Keep it simple. What's your wish. Can I help? Dare to dream. It's not fair.

Those last three little words will stop us every time.

How many times do we use those three little words? Maybe we don’t verbalize them, but only think them. Does that make them any less lethal?

It’s not fair I work so hard but don’t make very much money.

It’s not fair that I work harder and longer than him and he makes more than I do.

It’s not fair t…

2021.04.29 Success Made Easy

Success Made Easy

We all seem to want a magic bullet.

The idea of 'success made easy' probably got your attention, right? Yes, we all seem to want that “magic bullet” or the 3 Simple Steps to Success or the 4 Laws of Prosperity. Maybe we’d even accept a 7-step process. What if it was 149 steps? Would we still be interested? What if I told you it was hard? How would you feel? Or maybe you already think it’s hard to be a success or to be happy or to actually live the life you dream about. After all, we all have …

From the Basement to the Penthouse

I love taking my cues from nature.

I live in Spokane where it’s very cold in the winter. The house stays closed up during the winter, and when Spring arrives, the windows fly open and the house gets a breath of fresh air!

We all need fresh air and fresh ideas. Spring seems like it’s in full bloom. I love when nature wakes up from its winter slumber. It always reminds me to wake up from my slumber, too. I get to ask myself, ‘What have I been asleep to?” “What have I closed my eyes to?” “What …

The Antidote to Procrastination

Procrastination Kills Productivity

No surprise there!

I’ve done my own survey and asked people why they don’t do what they say they want to do. I was surprised that the #1 answer was…………

alarm_clock I DON’T HAVE TIME! alarm_clock

Okay, maybe I wasn’t all that surprised because that’s my #1 answer, too! This has been my excuse and I was able to point to my schedule to prove to myself (and everyone else) why it was true. I just didn’t think it would be such a common excuse. The funny thing is (and it’s not reall…

Opportunity Continues to Knock

Is opportunity knocking but you don’t answer the door because you are waiting for the doorbell?

Are you waiting for that perfect opportunity which will allow you to say a resounding “Yes” to your dream?  Are you looking for a sign that you are on the right path?  Do you want to make some changes but don’t know where to start?

Get Your Gratitude Juices Flowing

Recently someone wrote me saying this: “I hope I can recapture my ability to pursue my dreams but for now it feels more like survival.” Does this feel like you?

When I read these lines, I was heart-broken. These words came from someone I have long admired for her entrepreneurial spirit and winning attitude. It came from a woman who was actively following her dreams and passion. In her own way, she had been an unwitting role model for me.

Steve Jobs said, “Your time is limited, so don’t waste i…

Do You Look for Signs and Coincidences?

Is the practice of ‘trusting the universe’ just another way that we choose to NOT make a decision? Is it a form of giving our power away?

You know how it goes: rather than making a definitive choice or asking ourselves crucial questions, we look for signs and coincidences that verify we’re on the right track. Or not on the right track. If things don’t work out, we can ‘blame’ the universe saying, ‘it wasn’t meant to be.’ But if things do turn out, we applaud our ability to tune in…

You Need to Take a Risk

Do you want to hear an urban legend?

A number of years ago, Arnold Palmer, the great golfer, played some golf matches in Saudi Arabia. His play greatly impressed the King of Saudi Arabia, and before Palmer left the country the king told him he would like to present him with a special gift. "What can I offer you?" the king asked. Palmer expressed his gratitude for the offer but said that he had enjoyed his visit very much and a special gift was not necessary. But the king insisted and Palmer f…

Living in the Moment

The times when I’m able to live in the moment, I experience a sense of peace, contentment, spaciousness, and freedom.

I love these feelings. Anything and everything is possible. I’m on purpose. I experience joy and supreme self-acceptance (not to mention acceptance of others). I’m open to receive. I’m courageous and know that my life matters.

And even though I love these feelings, living in the moment seems to be a fleeting practice. I get distracted, worried, frustrated, discouraged, or st…

Can You Find the Silver Lining?

Life is full of uncertainty.

Who could have anticipated that in March 2020 we’d be wearing masks every time we went out? Or that we simply couldn’t just walk into our favorite restaurant and have lunch with a group of our friends? Or that our normal way of greeting our friends (with hugs) would be frowned upon?

There will be times in your life when the rug gets pulled out from under your feet, whether it's sickness, losing your job, a major crisis, or even something called COVID-19. Have you …
