Have you allowed yourself to fall in love with a new idea? I mean, really fall in love? You know, where this new idea takes over and you can't stop thinking about it and dreaming about it?
This is what happened to me in October. And now, 3 months later, my new idea has led to a not insignificant life change for my daughter (for the better) as well as for me. In this video I share what idea I fell in love with and how it seemingly came out of the blue (and look, I'm even wearing blue!!). I share how this new idea propelled me away from 'lack' thinking into possibility thinking. I know that you can fall in love with your own 'new' idea and dramatically change the course of your life toward the direction you want to move. It's time we stop settling for 'what is' and embrace the idea of 'what if.'

Although many of us (if not most of us) think of ourselves as ordinary, normal, and (God forbid!!) mediocre, in Reality, we are anything but.
How can we be ordinary and common when we are so unique that there is not one other person in the entire world of 8 billion people exactly like us? That makes us quite uncommon (in my humble opinion). Our challenge is to embrace that idea everyday. Instead of recycling the same old ideas we’ve had for years and years, it’s time to take a close look at how awesome and amazing we truly are. We can decide to become more than we’ve ever been before. In this video, I ask you to consider four questions that will help you hone in on your uncommon, exceptional, and extraordinary life.
We know we need to let go of our limiting ideas so that we can embrace a newer and greater idea of who we are. We know we need to let go of excuses, resentment, anger, judgment, and self-criticism if we want to experience contentment, peace of mind, and opulence.
But holding on feels so good! We tell ourselves we’ll let go of our old ideas as soon as the new ideas take hold. We are so funny. We know life doesn’t work that way, but we continue to hoard old and outdated beliefs and opinions. Maybe you can just let go of one limiting belief….and see what happens. I’d love to hear from you. Are you still trying to figure out your life purpose? Do you think if you just had some clarity, you'd be able to move forward and live a more fulfilling life?
Your life purpose is a journey. It evolves and changes as you evolve and change. You don't write a blurb and then cross the 'life purpose finish line' and check it off your bucket list. You purpose is already within you. Instead of chasing after it, let it find you. It's fun, it's exciting, and it lights you up. What are you passionate about? That's a huge clue to your purpose. Get to know yourself. Get to love yourself. Give yourself permission to shine. And your purpose will reveal itself.
When you get clear on how you want to show up in the world; when you get clear on how you are going to use your talents, skills, gifts, and passion to make a difference; when you get clear on what you want to experience and what you will no longer settle for - the result is increased confidence and power.
Instead of apologizing for your big dreams, embrace them. Clarity is an important step and activates opportunities. No more being 'wishy washy' - get crystal clear and expect opportunity to come knocking.
It can be exhausting pushing all the time. We push ahead toward our goals and toward manifesting our desires. We focus, get down to business, and get 'er done. However, this type of push energy isn't sustainable and then when we get tired of pushing, we might feel guilt or shame becasue we think we're failures.
The balance to 'push energy' is 'pull energy' and both are needed for this journey called life. Pull energy allows us to tune in and deterime our next inspired step. Pull energy allows for the twists and turns and ups and downs of our journey, knowing we are headed in the right direction. 'Pull energy' is not necessarily easy and effortless, but it is flowing. Push energy can give you some traction, it can help get you started, and you can sustain what you start with Pull Energy. How can you use both Push Energy and Pull Energy to move forward in the direction of your dreams?
When you deny or de-value your talents, skills, and strengths you are actually denying and de-valuing the reason you are here.
You claim you want to show up, make a differece and 'play big' and the first step is acknowledging and accepting your brand of brilliance. It is who you are and you can't run away from it or hide from it. You may have tried, but everyone else around you can see your brilliance. So, stop hiding and running. Take a stand and claim your purpose. Share your brilliance. And make the world a better place! Is there a gap between where you are and where you want to be? If so, something needs to happen to close that gap. A shift needs to take place, either in our thinking, our feeling, our speaking, or our behavior (or maybe in all of them!) If pretending that everything is wonderful isn't working or if 'faking it' isn't working or even if 'acting as if' isn't working, maybe it's time to actually look at what isn't working and make a shift! Ignoring our limiting thinking or our sabotaging behaviors will not make them disappear. We need awareness so we can make the shift we need to close the gap between where we are and where we want to be. Yeah, it doesn't sound fun to me either. But hey, shift happens!
Do you feel like everyone else has a more exciting life than you? Are you frustrated or dissatisfied because you aren't more exciting, doing more, or going places? Do you have Facebook Envy? This can make you feel like you are like a 'wet blanket.'
When we compare ourselves to others, we have forgotten our power and our purpose. It could be that your path is a path of sacred joy, of enlightenment, or mentoring, of educating, of guiding, of connection - and that path looks very, very different from our more-exciting friends. The 'badass' life isn't about excitement. It's about confidence and purpose and authenticity and sharing our gifts, talents, and wisdom. That may not look exciting, but it is far more rewarding (and important).
Have you tried to fit in? Have you felt like a ‘black sheep’? Have you felt like a square peg trying to fit into a round hole? I know I have for most of my life. And so have a lot of the people I work with.
And then I heard these words: “Why try to fit in when you were born to stand out?” Wow. How does that feel to you? When I heard those words (and they weren’t spoken to me) – I wondered how these words might have made a difference to me years ago. But hey, it’s never too late and a new perception is born! I had a ton of fun making this video and I even offer a quickie exercise to help identify your essence energy – you know that energy you embody when you are feeling powerful, confident, and strong. Don’t fit in; express your essence energy and stand out like the supernova that you are. |
